Simone Tolley, former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Cheerleader and founder of Spotlight Promotions, was diagnosed with lupus in 2006. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects at least 5 million people worldwide, primarily women. In lupus, a person’s immune system goes awry and attacks tissues and organs resulting in debilitating, sometimes fatal consequences, including heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and kidney failure. There is no cure. There have been no new medications approved since 1958! Motivated by the need for funding for lupus research and in order to raise awareness, Simone and husband Michael (The Venue), created “Hollywood Night” to be an annual event supporting the LFA Greater Florida Chapter.
